BACKUP SERVER
Backup server, built in Go.
Eight.ly Backup Server (EBS) is a deduplicating, encrypting backup target. Single binary. Free with every Eight.ly license.
Content-defined deduplication
Buzhash rolling hash splits data into content-defined chunks. Only new or changed chunks are stored. Efficient for incremental backups.
AES-256-GCM encryption
All data encrypted at rest. PBKDF2 with 600,000 iterations for key derivation. Your backups stay private even if the drive walks out the door.
One small program
Nothing else to install and no service files to debug. Download, run, done. Runs on 64-bit PCs, servers and ARM boards.
TLS TOFU cert pinning
Trust-on-first-use certificate pinning for secure connections between EBS and Eight.ly OS. No CA infrastructure needed.
Web UI
Monitor backup jobs, check dedup ratios, verify integrity — all from the browser. No CLI required for day-to-day operations.
zstd compression
Fast compression reduces storage requirements without sacrificing backup speed.
